Symptoms

Recognizing symptoms can be the first step toward a healthy recovery from the flu. Symptoms are generally the same for seasonal flu and H1N1 flu.

  • fever (100 degrees or higher)
  • cough
  • sore throat
  • runny or stuffy nose
  • body aches or headaches
  • chills
  • fatigue
  • occasionally diarrhea and vomiting

During flu season, watch for symptoms in yourself and and in others. If you think you have the flu, stay home, get rest and drink plenty of clear fluids. If you see flu symptoms in other people, avoid contact with them.
